Business drivers: the learning objectives.

In this section the learning objectives is to understand the Docker business drivers.

The business drivers for Docker are important to understand because that makes the benefits of Docker explicit. That is related to risk, because it is the benefits that people see that make them accept residual risks. In other words, risks have to be treated and reduced to an acceptable level in relation to the benefits.

If there is no perceived benefit, there will also not be any tolerance for risk.

The second point here is that risk management should also aim to protect the upside, i.e. make sure that the benefits imagined are actually realised, for example in more efficiency in machine resource usage.
